What is The full Definition of Computer Hardware 2020

Computer hardware is all of the internal and external parts of a computer that you can see, touched, and handled. external parts include components like monitor, mouse, port, modem, speaker, printer, CPU, while internal include components like motherboard, fan, processor, ram, wireless card, video card. Those are some of the components that are collective called hardware. And it is by their coordination that a person is able to perform certain tasks because the components cannot work or function individually. Hardware is a control or directed by applications software and they have Inter-mediator as drivers that link them together to bring about components functionalities. Having a brief explanation of computer hardware let's now dive into the parts that computer hardware consists of, in a little bit more detail.

·         Central processing unit

·         Secondary storage

·         Peripheral devices

Central Processing Unit

The central processing unit which is also known as CPU is sometimes called the brain, heart, or body of the computer because it is regarded as a computer's brain as it controls all of the activities carried out on the computer. In short, it is an integral part of the computer; in the desktop computer system unit enclosed all of the computer’s internal components. The central processing unit comprises of three parts namely:

·         Arithmetic and Logical Unit

·         Control Unit

·         Memory

Arithmetic and Logical Unit: Arithmetic and the logical unit is also known as ALU and it is one of the most important parts of the central processing unit of a computer system, it is the part that is responsible for all processes related to arithmetic, making decision logical operations and stores data for a while.

Control Unit: Another essential part of the central processing unit which controls the operations and activities is known as the Control unit. It tells the computer’s output, input, arithmetic, and memory how to respond to particular software or programs.

Memory: A memory is similar to the human brain as it works similarly to the human brain by storing data and information. Computer memory can be divided into two, Random access memory and Read-only memory, and these two memories have different functionalities.

RAM: Ram (Random Access Memory)  is one of the hardware components that is located inside the computer on the motherboard and it where application program, operating system (OS), and other information are kept for some certain time for the use at that time because it even faster read from it than from any other drive-by processor and it of two types, dynamic and static random access memory.

ROM: ROM(Read-only memory) is also another hardware component which is used for storing data, information, and file permanently for now and future use and it has all programming that its need on it for running programs and some tasks.

Secondary Memory

Secondary storage (external storage devices) are storage like floppy disk, hard disk, flash drive, and USB which are used in storing data, information, files in the computer, and they have different capacities of storing data or information and they are also other hardware components.

Peripherals Devices

Peripherals devices: Computer peripherals can be defined as the external or internal computer components that are connected to the computer externally or externally for certain functions like entering data, information, and instructions. But they do affect the primary function of the computer as it can work without them. Now let's look at some peripheral devices and their functions.

Keyboard: Keyboard is a hardware component that is considered as the most important peripheral device which is specifically used for entering data, instruction into a computer, like typing and other things. And the keyboard is of different shape and size due to the everyday technological advancement and the keys on the keyboard are of different keys-type, let’s now take a look at their list:

·         Numerical keys

·         Alphabetical keys

·         Function keys

·         Arrow keys

Mouse: The mouse is an input device as well as a computer peripheral that is used in the control cursor on the monitor but even without mouse computer operator can do some certain task using a keyboard, but the work will not be as quick, speedy as if you are using the mouse. The mouse can be of two types which are: optical mouse and mechanical mouse. And it has three buttons within its body which are the scroll button used for scrolling, right-clicks used for entering a particular folder or file, left-clicks used for having options.

Flash drive: This is external computer storage used in storing data like movies, music, image, and so on.  And one of its primary functions is that it is used when formatting a computer that has a CD-ROOM problem, using a flash drive in formatting a computer can sometimes be the fastest way of getting the work done.

Printer: This is an example of peripheral devices that has an external function in the computer system, which is the use of a printer in printing out your soft copy document into a hard copy one. There are some verities of the printer as there is a kind of printer that can function as both printer and photocopier but it’s a little bit more expensive.

Monitor: This is a peripheral device that belongs to the output port and it is used in displaying documents, music, image, and of course some coded form of instructions written in a particular programming language. The monitor can be divided into two types: LCD (liquid crystal display), CRT (cathode ray tube), and LED (light-emitting diodes) monitors.

Webcam: This is another peripheral and it is a camera used in taking, snapping, photos on the computer, and of course shooting videos.

That's it about hardware, thank so many guys for reading my post and I hope you enjoy it.
